Signs of a water main leak
- Your water bill jumps and you can't find a leak in the house
- A wet or unusually green patch of lawn between the street and the house
- Water pressure that has dropped for no clear reason
- The meter keeps moving when every fixture is off
- Water seeping up through the driveway, sidewalk or yard
Repair or full replacement
If the line is in good shape apart from one damaged spot, a section repair may be all you need. If the pipe is old, undersized or has leaked more than once, replacing the whole run from the meter to the house is usually the better long-term value. Zoltan will tell you which applies and why.
How the work is done
Zoltan locates the leak, excavates only what is needed, installs the new pipe and connections, tests for leaks and restores water to the house. You will know how long the water will be off before work begins.
Finding your shut-off before you need it
If a service line breaks, the first thing to do is shut the water off. Most homes have a main shut-off valve where the line enters the house — often in a basement, crawl space or garage — and the meter box near the street has a valve as well. Knowing where yours is can save a lot of water damage. If you can't find it, or it won't turn, mention it when you call and Zoltan can check it while he is there.
