Signs it may be time to re-pipe
- Low water pressure throughout the house, especially on upper floors
- Brown or rusty water when you first turn on a tap
- Repeated pinhole leaks or leaks in different places
- Visible corrosion or crusty buildup on exposed pipes and fittings
- Pressure drops when two fixtures run at once
How a re-pipe works
Zoltan starts with a free estimate: he looks at the pipe you have now, where it runs and how it can be reached. Most of the work happens through crawl spaces, basements and small access openings, and he plans the new runs to keep wall openings to a minimum.
New lines are run to each fixture, connected, pressure-tested for leaks and then the water is turned back on. You are told up front how long you will be without water so you can plan around it.
Part of a remodel?
If you are already opening walls for a kitchen or bathroom remodel, that is the cheapest time to replace old piping in that part of the house. Ask about it when you get your remodel estimate.
